Welcoming The King

The minstrel music plays and the crowd cheers as the king enters the square. Fresh baked goods almost masks the smell of the horses as they clomp by. Banners flutter in the breeze as the smiling subjects eagerly greet their king. I could go on and on, but all you have to do is look at these pictures to get the same story. This is how you assemble a scene, it's rich with detail and story telling. Nice work Teabox.

Arrival In Dunholm

This offering from The Brick Time Team is quite nice. It depicts the arrival of some troops in Dunholm, as they pass the old weaving mill and the stately manor of the Strindberg family. I've never seen an elevated tudor structure before, fascinating. And that house is amazing. 

Collaborative Parade

This is a neat idea. Brother Steven, Athalus, Andhe, AK_Brickster, Angry Octopus, Eklund, Gurusql, and Daken the Bladesmith all got together to build a "virtual collaborative. Each of them built one section of this parade. Yes, the photoshop is a little rough, but I'm more captivated by the idea, I like it.
 

Vanguard Keep

I've often wondered where I would have lived if I were alive in the middle ages. This MOC by Silver Smith looks nice, there's a guarded keep, a small market, looks like an inn and a pub, it's perfect, very nice indeed! Now travel about three miles away to a mundane field, that's probably where I'd live. 

Great Googly Moogly!

That's a big MOC. That's a really big MOC. But size alone does not impress me, in fact I think there's too much emphasis on size sometimes. Big does not really equal great. But in this case, holy moly there's a lot to love. This is a collaborative build by oLaF LM, 74louloute and 6kyubi6 for "Fana'Briques 2013". It's immense, and there's detail everywhere you look. It has a cool steampunk meets medieval vibe I've never really seen and it works. More pics after the jump.

Castle Dracula

These walls are texturiffic. The combination of grays, the profile bricks, the occasional stud and round makes for very rich detail. What would be a fairly simple, boxy castle is transformed into a very nice piece. The addition of snow details adds story and life to it as well.  

Everard Lodge

This post has been days coming, as Flickr user Mark of Falworth has been slowly revealing this masterpiece. Now that it's complete, I can share, and you can gawk. Look at those colors, the terrain work, the waterfall, the trees, the lodge...good grief this thing's got a lot going on. And it's all gorgeous.

Mmmm, Blackened Sausages

Flickr user Karf Oohlu brings us this MOC of a troll in his kitchen. There's a lot going on here, which I love. It's one of those builds that you can look at as a whole and appreciate, then you start taking in the details, and they just keep coming.
