And You Thought Your Monday Was Going Bad
/We've all had those days. You overslept, forgot the creamer in your coffee, got stuck in traffic, missed a meeting at work because you were late, got strapped to a X frame and dismembered for the enjoyment of a goblin king...OK, maybe not that last part. So your day isn't so bad now huh? At least not as bad as this poor chump in this rather macabre MOC by cmaddison.
Thatched Loveliness
/I don't know what it is about round displays, I suspect it's because they defy the "squarish" nature of LEGO, but they're always so compelling. And that's just the beginning of all the eye candy in this MOC by Derfel Cadern. I mean look at that thatched roof! And the off kilter buildings, the stonework, the details, it's all beautiful.
I Shall Build A Round Table, And A Hall About The Table, And A Castle About The Hall
/Sorry, couldn't resist a little nod to one of my all time favorite movies, Excalibur. This build by Disco86 is just stunning. Everything is so clean and well presented. And that curved wall is amazing. I can't imagine how much tension that is under, but the stressed bricks are worth it when it call comes together this well.
The Crow's Nest
/I love this, I absolutely love it. The snow, the design, the colors, the techniques, all amazing. There seems to be a growing trend to this building style. And while it seems totally unstable by classic building standards, what it lacks in structural integrity it more than makes up for in sheer wow factor.
Oasis Encounter
/Last week while driving in LA I spotted a guy stuck on Lincoln Blvd actually using a hookah in his car, today I see one brick-built, coincidence? Well, hardly, but this is a cool MOC by Disco86 anyway.
Hall Of The Silver Throne
/Digger1221 offers up this lovely throne room, with some delicious details. The brick walls, border work and the throne are great, but my favorite parts are the floor pattern and the candle stands, excellent.
Tigelfáh Castle And Town
/This is a massive and incredible collaborative build by SlyOwl, Kǻrrde, peggyjdb, workshysteve, Invicta Bricks, Malravion, Cuahchic and Derfel Cadarn. It was recently featured at the Great Western LEGO Show at STEAM in Swindon UK. The attention detail and work that went into this is stunning. And with eight different builders, there's tons of pictures to look at. Click through and enjoy!
Aldora Castle
/With CCCXI going on there's castles everywhere. Here's a fine example from Mark of Falworth. This is how to make the most of limited space on a rocky outcrop, and of course to thwart attack.
Lindon Castle
/During my time in England I assumed I would see more castles, as it was I only really saw two, and only one up close. Neither of them were as cool as this one from lego_fan. OK, Tower Of London was pretty cool, but I wouldn't want to live there. But this one...you see that little balcony? That's my room.
Sarlina's Cottage
/Legonardo Davidy is back with another awe inspiring castle build. This rickety cottage defies LEGO logic with the tapered sides, asymmetry and sagging roof. It's absolutely brilliant.
Avell Castle
/This is another entry into the Mini Castle Contest over at Classic Castle, and it's lovely. I'm never certain about the intent of mixing old and new grays (when it happens at my house it's because of bad lighting and colorblindness) but it works well here. I especially like the towers and the supports for the bridge. Nice work Toltomeja.
Obsidian Spike
/This is a gorgeous MOC, beautifully photographed. All black creations are notoriously hard to shoot (tip: it's all about the reflections) but Zceberus nailed it. I love the undercut rock work and the overall proportions. This thing is loaded with detail too, click through for many more pictures.
Micro Castle and Village
/I love a good micro scene, and this one is not only excellent, it's also on Cuusoo, so there's a chance we could all have one. The whole thing is broken into modules, so you can build slowly over time, or reconfigure however you like. The castle walls are actually only three components, very flexible and clever. It's got my support!
Blessing Of The Sword
/You can practically hear the faint minstrel music in the background, smell the dust in the air, taste the mead and feel the aged wood in this MOC by MinifigNick. So much detail and texture, I especially like the banners and the floor.
