Porg: The Other White Meat

Porgs, they are primed and ready to be a love it/hate it aspect of Star Wars The Last Jedi. I for one think they are kinda cute, but am honestly a bit leery. But I swore to reserve judgement until I see the movie, and I will. Regardless if you love them or hate them, you gotta admit they're probably good eatin', at least ewoks think so (and so does Ochre Jelly).

Robot Saints

All you need for a religion is an idea and a bunch of people to agree that's a pretty good idea. Who's to say we can't worship a robot deity? And if we did, why not recognize some robots as saints? That seems to be the inspiration behind this collaboration between DjoksonKingmarshyLord-OblivionAnthony (The Secret Walrus) WilsonThe Chosen One and Disty

Beary Bad Day

Humans sure take a lot of pride being "top of the food chain", but I can assure you it's only because we're slightly more clever and built cities and houses. Drop most modern day people off in the middle of nowhere and they'll quickly figure out where they stand, especially if there's bears around. And this is nothing new, as illustrated in this hilarious MOC by lummerlander. You would think after tens of thousands of years we'd learn...nope.

Fateful Errors Of Mankind (unpopular) Part 1

Red Sonja

I remember a Red Sonja movie (at least I think I remember it) I remember not liking it much. And as you know I'm not much of a comic reader so I really don't know much about her. And I'm to irritated from a day-long wait for a shipment from Billund and wheezy from all the smoke to bother to research her. I'll just be ignorant and admire this bust from builder vitreolum. Yeah, I said "bust", what of it?

Party Animals

I was fortunate enough to see this wonderfully whimsical piece by Brickbaron in person at BrickCon. I was also honored with an official party animal sheep head from Paul, one of 50 he gave out at the convention. Toward the end of the con all of the party animals gathered for a photo op (I'm on the right, making the usual stupid face). What a fantastic way to celebrate the yearly reunion of friends and brighten everyone's day, thanks Paul!

The Disaster Artist

For those that didn't know, I have a particular fond spot for bad movies. Not Michael Bay bad, but Ed Wood bad. Those movies that are made with earnestness and heart, but no competency or clue. The kind of films that end up the subjects of MST3K and Rifftrax. One of those movies is The Room, and epically bad film from Tommy Wiseau, which happens to be the subject of a new film called the Disaster Artist, and consequently this brilliant MOC from Ochre Jelly.

Waiting (Not So) Patiently For This Guy

It's December 3rd, so we're still three weeks away from the night jolly old Saint Nicholas comes down the chimney (seen here brilliantly realized by builder vincentkiew). I hope those adults reading this can take a moment to think of the children. Right now, all over the world, they are in anguish. For time passes more slowly this time of year, so slow in fact it's functionally immeasurable. I can sorta relate, I've been waiting for my new 3D printer for three weeks. Be strong kids, you can do this.

Totoro

Everyone wants Totoro for a neighbor, he's so lovable and huggable. Not to disparage the neighbors I have, they're nice enough. But I'm guessing there's a lot of you out there who don't even know your neighbors. So ask yourself this, if you don't know your neighbors, how do you know that Totoro isn't living next door? Food for thought and a fantastic build by Eggy Pop.

Pardon This!

Traditions come and go. No one really cooks Christmas goose anymore and I've often wondered why, but after seeing this fully armed and raging turkey by Legohaulic, I have a theory. We humans take way too much pride in our domination of other species, and some day we'll get what we have coming when they rise up. In the mean time there's plenty of leftover turkey in the fridge.

Not This Year!

Barb

You'll have to excuse me while I gush, those with a sensitivity to man love and geekgasm should look away. Holy shnikes is this MOC awesome! Now everyone knows that me and Ochre Jelly are buds, but I can assure you even if Iain and I weren't friends, I would still be a solid fan, he's one of my favorite builders. And I'm a huge Stranger Things fan, so automatically this one had my attention. And everyone loves Barb, mostly because we've all been in her shoes. Let's face it there's a little Barb in all of us. Combine all that, with this stunning build, awesome lighting and excellent photography, and it's nothing less than perfect. Iain, you know where to send the check.

More Spooky Fun

Halloween is a mere four days away, and builder Legohaulic is getting seriously into it. Every day for nearly a week now we've been...treated...to these spectacular and charming little spooky portraits. Most of the traditional mainstays have been covered, what could be left? I'm waiting for a creature from the black lagoon, or maybe a hockey mask, or perhaps a mummy...

Merchant Matteo

Bionicle builder Mana Ramp Matron is back with another awesome creation, not only for it's construction, but for the lore behind it. Giving a back story on a build isn't uncommon, many builders weave a little storytelling into their MOCs (which is so cool) but this one is unusual for the subject matter. This is actually based on a previously built character, and tells the story from his past. The original figure of Matteo has seen numerous upgrades and rebuilds over the years, now a new chapter opens, with some of his mysterious past coming to light.
